He earned a law degree and practiced as a lawyer until his mother’s death in 1963. At that time, he traveled to West Germany with a passport, where he was ordained a priest on July 6, 1969, for service in the Diocese of Rotenburg.
He entered the order on October 16, 1970. He completed his novitiate in Nuremberg. He completed his tertianship in Tullamore. He took his final vows on September 8, 1983. He lived in Canada from 1972 to 1984. He served as a pastor in Mariazell in 1985, in Vienna from 1986 to 1987, and in Seefeld from 1988 to 1992, after which he returned to Hungary.
