Biographical data
He earned a degree in chemical engineering in Budapest, then left for abroad in the late 1940s. He entered the Society of Jesus in Arlon, Belgium, on September 22, 1950. He studied philosophy in Leuven from 1953 to 1955, then theology in Burgos from 1955 to 1958. He was ordained a priest on July 30, 1957. He completed his tertianship in La Ceja in 1959, after which he served as a pastor in Chile. He was transferred to Canada in 1975, where he remained until 1993, after which he returned to Hungary. He took his final vows on December 29, 1976. In 2016, the Hungarian Catholic Bishops’ Conference honored him with the Pro Ecclesia Hungariae Award.
