Biographical data
He graduated from the Premontrei High School in Keszthely and then entered the Premontrei Abbey in Csornai on August 14, 1941. He was ordained a priest on June 16, 1946. He celebrated his first Mass in his hometown. His superiors then sent him to Paris, where he earned a degree from the Sorbonne. His first overseas assignment was in Rabat, Morocco, where he served as an assistant pastor from 1950 to 1953. In 1953, he emigrated to the United States. With his death, the last American-Hungarian Premonstratensian monk who had taken his vows in Hungary and was the founder of St. Michael’s Abbey in Orange passed away.
